I don't believe the State Code has loopholes in its present iteration, though I'm sure we'll eventually get a case that may have one. My goal right now is to fill an incredibly concerning vacancy with someone I view as experienced and interested in doing it, a combination that I fit. Given the incredible difficulty we've found filling the Pschent for as long as I can remember, whereas Scribe of Justice has generally managed to get filled as it's not a long-term commitment from where one can grow, I figured my lack of ambition to run for Pharaoh or be in the Hedjet for a while, tied with the experience I carry for the position, fits me perfectly for someone who would be able to sit within a Pschent seat.
I meant to say Criminal Codex. Sorry about that.

I would just like to clarify that the argument for your confirmation is that you have spent so much time being tried as a criminal that you deserve to be a judge?
If you choose to selectively pick and choose what you want to read and also ignore my serving as a Hearing Officer on trials, as well as more than six years of being in and around various legislative and judicial roles in more legal terms as well, not to mention serving Osiris in various roles with great integrity for nearly four years, then yes I guess my primary qualifications are that I've had to on more than one occasion thoroughly learn the legal codes and laws of several major regions. If you'd like to dumb that down to "Tim's been on trial" a lot, that's fine.

So you know a lot about the law. Why should you be Elder and not Scribe of Justice? You claim to know of any loopholes in criminal codes so I think that would be very prudent to have in a Scribe of Justice.

I don't contest your experience with legal affairs nor that you would be a great choice for the Pschent especially because you'd be way less prone to wander off like the last few elders. Like Cormac if there was a confirmation vote I'd be voting yes.

However I am not sure how I feel about you nominating yourself I gather its not forbidden or anything but it doesn't strike me as the best way forward. Now that your desire to continue to serve Osiris after your delegacy in a capacity that we sorely need some stability in is evident, I'd imagine you would be the top choice to fill that vacancy by the next pharaoh.

I will make this brief to refrain from derailing the thread.

I would like to apologize for any individuals whose integrity I have questioned or who I have otherwise attacked. This is a poor reflection on my character alone and I hope to redeem myself of these actions in the future.

Do you identify yourself with a certain philosophy in your judicial interpretation of the law and/or the way you act? If no, when presiding over a case, what are you like?

Will the Pharaoh be answering any more questions?

I move for a vote on the nominee.

He has failed to answer the questions posed to him even though he has had more than enough time to respond. I will not be voting Aye on this nomination and I will not second the motion to bring it to a vote.

That's not even slightly surprising, and knowing you, I doubt there is any answer he could have given to any question that would have yielded an Aye vote from you. I, however, am satisfied with the answers he has already given, so I'm moving for a vote.

I am not on board with the way a sitting pharaoh is nominating himself for a seat on the Pschent essentially to take up after his delegacy. Please explain to me how this is a good idea.

Again, like I said I would support him for the Pschent without reservation but why like this? Why wouldn't we wait for the next pharaoh to nominate/appoint when Tim would be one of the if not the top choice?
