Rashidi risked a look over the rock he was hiding behind, and realised not much changed in the situation. He decided to shout something out, hoping somebody would hear him. "This woman seems to have stopped attacking! Do you want to kill an unarmed person?! Especially one who seems to be a law enforcer?! You should all do the appropriate thing and instead of mindlessly firing arrows, interrogate her! Make sure she isn't a bandit!"

Shar stayed behind the boulder while scanning the darkness for any more bandits. In other circumstances he would've laughed at the Scholar's suggestion. The best way to ensure everyone's safety was to kill this "ranger" and move on.

Rashidi decided to shout again. "It's just not rational! What kind of bandit will kill someone, then make up an excuse before they're in danger?! She said why the thief was killed, and then you all attacked her! Actually, how would the bandit know that Wallcroft was a thief! There's too much evidence pointing to her being a ranger! No bandit would kill a specific person and say why they killed them, getting that person's identity right in the process, and then not attack anybody else! A real bandit wouldn't stop attacking until they realise they're outnumbered by skilled fighters, and then make up the excuse!"

Kelikon had slowly been growing more and more annoyed by this gnat's incessant buzzing. Slowly coming up behind him, he knocked Rashidi unconscious with the butt of his staff. He turned to Valk. "Better to have gnats out of our ears."

Valk sighed and rubbed at the bridge of his nose. "Stop all firing! Assume defensive positions but don't attack unless they attack first. Let's be honest, she did us a favor with the princess."

"Yes well it seems our princess can't get up either." Valk said back, slowly relaxing but keeping his eye on the rear of the outcrop.

Hastein sheathed his weapons, watching the ranger/bandit warily. He quickly came to an idea. He shifted the camel off their quarry and bent down, keeping them on the floor with a hand.

"I could kill you right now and therefore you're going to listen to what I'm saying to you, and then you will agree to do it. Honour dictates I either kill you or take one of your bow drawing fingers. I will do neither." He was whispering to her.

"You can be useful to me and you will be. If not, I will not hesitate to kill you. Do you understand?"
