Kelikon had taken cover behind one of the larger boulders and began fire from his bow, all the while readying himself for an approach with his quarterstaff or dagger.

"If they can't win the ranged game, they'll have to storm us. Just keep your head down. We don't need another casualty." He said to the group before drawing his short sword and laying it beside himself. Valk really wished they hadn't lit that damned fire.

Hastein grunted as the sand whipped at his face as he drew his tagelmust closer around his face. It hadn't taken long for the outcropping to become hidden to view, but the wardstone he'd hidden in the Princesses belongings would tell him the way back.
He hadn't been gone long before the sounds of men moving through the desert drew him to a halt. They were nearby but apparently were unaware of his presence. He dismounted quickly, looping back around them. The tracks he found suggested 8 horses, though why anyone was using horses in this terrain he couldn't guess.
He found his camel and mounted again, continuing to track them. They were heading to the outcropping, he was sure. And in this weather, they wouldn't see them coming.
Murmuring a prayer to the Joms gods, he drew a throwing axe and set off at the gallop. He took one man out with his first throw, then killed two more with his longsword. Three others went down before they fled. Hastein quickly took an ear from each, then set off towards the rock.
A rock which was in complete chaos for some reason. To the south of the outcropping was a lone rider, firing a bow at them. Hastein was coming from the east, with the rock between the two. Charging the bowman was a risk, but he one he needed to take.
He drew a ward in the air and spoke quickly, his voice coming from the bags he'd left in camp. "I don't know what is going on but I'm going to charge whoever it is who's firing. Cover me, because if I get shot, I'm putting an axe in each of your heads."
Hastein dug in his heels and headed for the camp.

Shar had faced enough bandits to know, they all said that when the odds turned against him. Feeling emboldened, he began to fire more quickly at the camel.

"Not attacking us?! Because it seems our friend here is pretty dead for you to not be attacking us." Valk shouted back.

"You're already fighting us," Shar shouted, still firing and wondering just how that camel was still standing at all, "And we're winning."

Hastein had charged as soon as he saw the arrows come over, his camel covering the ground quickly. The shouted conversation between his companions and their attacker he ignored, focussing on removing the obstacle in front of him.
The enemy's camel.
Hastein drew both his scimitars, guiding his mount with his knees. He had chosen the biggest, nastiest camel he could find and for just this purpose. His camel smashed into the smaller beast, both going sprawling, with Hastein diving from the saddle and rolling along the ground to his feet, scimitars ready.
