Dorian suddenly burst into life.

"Real funny guys I fall asleep on the back of the camel and you lot just leave me here...And I see you've all eaten without me. Fine, I'll make my own meal, with all the trimmings..." he said lighting one of his herbal rolls.

"I don't see any objection to a fire, it's not like we're not strong enough to tackle anything that comes at us, we could use a warm up anyway" he grinned lifting his hands and letting sparks dance across his fingertips.

"Loosen up guys". Besides. his eyes began to glow red and storm clouds filled the air above thunder rolling through the air at random intervals, "no one is going to want to go out in what looks like an incoming thunderstorm" he said.

"I believe several of us objected to the fire actually. If you are dead set on fighting bandits tonight, that's fine. I hope you can fend them off on your own,"

Kelikon discarded the brush he had gathered and glared at Dorian.

Dorian grunted at the others before relenting and walking away. "Fine, do as you please" he said gesturing his hand dismissively.

"Bread and biscuits it is then it seems! Tonight is probably as secure as we're going to get for a camp. Craggy land, favouring the defender and good lines of sight. I'm not sure we'll get another opportunity to have a good hot meal until we reach Vargin at least."

Rashidi jumped off the camel and put his robe back on. He stood back and examined the conversation. "I was taught to never take sides, only observe" Rashidi said "But it seems as if Hasan has a genuinely good point. He said before- the only danger is the peculiar beasts of the deep, which are dangerous, yes, but cannot sense fire. I don't think bandits would be common in this area. Hasan, tell us, if you have been here before, have you ever had trouble with the criminal type?"

"What traveller through the desert hasn't? In my experience though you kill a couple and the rest get too scared for their own necks and flee. Those scum prey on the weak and unprepared. They are not honourable and they are not great fighters. They are self-centred and self-preserving. Shout boo loud enough and they'd probably flee if you shout with conviction."

"It's settled then" smirked Dorian beneath his robe, pointing a finger at the nearest fire and blasting it into life.

"Let 'em come, you can sit back and watch me turn them to ash if you're not in the mood for some sport, but in the meantime, I want hot food, don't like it, don't partake. Simple."

Valk grumbled and pulled his cloak closer to him as he settled against the rock. These assholes were trying to get themselves killed and he was the one on watch to keep it from happening. "Democracy..." he muttered to himself as he tore at another piece of jerky. The mob makes dumb decisions and the smart ones have to protect them from their own stupidity.

The stone was cold against his side and the flame in his peripheral vision was messing with his ability to see in the dark. V tried shifting, closing an eye, but none of it was helping. "I can't see in the dark with that bright flame in my eyes." He shouted to the group. "And is anyone watching the other side of the outcrop?"

"Well, you just gave yourself a solution." Rashisi said. "Just go guard the outcrop, and then the fire won't bother you."
