Not exactly endearing yourself to the community with this comment, given that Osiris is a GCR, and particularly when a lot of the vote stacking in GCRs has historically involved players from UCRs piling into GCRs to try to illegitimately influence their direction.JayDee wrote:Thu Sep 07, 2017 3:09 pmOf course, I must keep reminding myself that GCRs are so petty that they'll pile in other regions just for legislation.
I concur with what you said about JayDee's comments however as the amendement is about voting on all proposals it must go in the Rules of the Council of Scribes not the Ma'atCormac wrote:Thu Sep 07, 2017 6:31 pmNot exactly endearing yourself to the community with this comment, given that Osiris is a GCR, and particularly when a lot of the vote stacking in GCRs has historically involved players from UCRs piling into GCRs to try to illegitimately influence their direction.JayDee wrote:Thu Sep 07, 2017 3:09 pmOf course, I must keep reminding myself that GCRs are so petty that they'll pile in other regions just for legislation.
I support this legislation in principle, but I think it should be an amendment to the Scroll of Ma'at rather than an amendment to the Rules of the Council of Scribes, and I think it should use similar language as the restriction for elections. I would like to keep these things consistent.
Those are strictly elections and make sense.JayDee wrote:Thu Sep 07, 2017 2:46 pmWell, it's a good thing we have this Section 1 Part 3 of our Constitution to prevent that.(3) Citizens admitted to citizenship during or within seven days prior to a scheduled election, or after the initiation of a special election, will not be permitted to vote in that election.
Sometimes intelligence simply fails, and we shouldn't be vulnerable to subversion just because intelligence has failed when we can implement common sense restrictions to guard against such subversion.JayDee wrote:Thu Sep 07, 2017 7:28 pmI'm not concerned with endearing myself. I'm concerned with what I believe is right and wrong. The best counter measures against vote stacking is making sure they don't get in our region in the first place. That's what intelligence is for.
So you do think we should be vulnerable to legislative subversion?Zaolat wrote:Thu Sep 07, 2017 8:36 pmI don't agree. Also, too much tl;dr, so I haven't read in full.
No, I think citizens shouldn't be accepted all willy nilly.Cormac wrote:Thu Sep 07, 2017 8:48 pmSo you do think we should be vulnerable to legislative subversion?Zaolat wrote:Thu Sep 07, 2017 8:36 pmI don't agree. Also, too much tl;dr, so I haven't read in full.
