I feel bad since this is devoid of questions, but most substantial questions were asked and answered in the other thread.

So have a link.

The Second Coming of Jesus Whale

We do not, as many people in Osiris know, see eye to eye on legislation or on Osiris. Much like with Ainocra, you have been a staunch and consistent critic of me as a member of the Old Guard - a remnant from a time that should have long since left Osiris, despite my greatly diminished involvement, role and standing in the community.

Osiris is a region of unrealistic expectations. It is a region that is stagnant, without a source of life that is not negative, derogatory or divisive. It needs to change that.

Osiris forgets that no one is perfect, no one can always behave perfectly and perfection is not a trait that we should expect from our Pharaoh. It is a failing of Osiris to hold the Pharaoh to the highest, often unrealistic standards and many of us are often blind to the fact that they are human as well.

I do not believe that Osiris' best course lies in stripping the delegacy of its power. The OFO gave true legislative oversight of the executive with its foundation unlike anything ever seen in the previous Book of the Dead of the Kemetic Republic, and I do not see a case to completely remove the authority of the Pharaoh and render it toothless. I have listened to the stories offered by other regions - about the dangers of that system and know deep down that Osiris is not the right region for that system.

Balder - used as an example of how this is successful, is different to Osiris, in that the same Delegate has been in power for sometime and is also their root admin, they are secure in that knowledge of that Delegate's place in the community and of their unwavering dedication to Balder. Truly, that person has done a huge amount to keep Balder safe. For Balder, that system works: they haven't been plagued with civil war, instability, factionalism within the region and their battles or worse. In Osiris I know that one of the "old guard" would end up as permanent delegate, and that makes me uneasy - the same people occupy these roles again and again. This is a cycle, that cannot be allowed to continue and Osiris will never be truly able to advance as a region, as a community with a select group of people at the helm and suffocating it and any chance of change.

Osiris needs less hand holding from the old guard and more upward mobility from fresh blood. I am not part of the central school of thought in Osiris anymore and have not been for a long time, and given that I have spent the last two years making my way in other regions, perhaps I have a different perspective than those who have chained themselves to Osiris.

This entire election cycle has been characterised by utterly distasteful and disappointing behaviour from all involved. We may yet see more departures from Osiris because of it, although I hope not. What is wrong with Osiris isn't centred around the delegacy, but the attitudes the community itself has to outsiders or unknowns. I have been guilty of this as well, I was more than happy to treat Ainocra in the same way you were treated during a similar election last year. The solution is not to render the delegacy "toothless" - which is impossible, by the way given the fact that the Delegate can appoint and remove executive officers at will and has the full ability to act however it likes gameside. Osiris has been resistant to adapt a modified World Assembly Development Program that TNP and Europeia use, which would go a long way to mitigating that security risk and improving WA numbers.

Elections like this turn nasty when there is competition. People decide every dirty trick in the book is allowed to claim their goals - it happens in the Deshret as well. It is flat out unacceptable.

I want this to end, and I am very weary of always having to keep an eye on Osiran security no matter where else I am in NationStates. But the only way that will change is if the community changes its attitude - and it can start by maturing enough to address its concerns in a public venue, rather than back room slanging matches.

(Those of you who disagree with that view, may express it elsewhere in private.)

Jakker would have been my first preference for Pharaoh, and was. However, in light of recent events, I will be placing you as my first preference vote.

New blood is needed, and with those allegations proven false, I believe you are the best path forward for Osiris so long as you can meet your platform goals.

While we have never seen eye to eye, I have always known, begrudgingly sometimes, that you always put Osiris first and wanted what's best for it.

I thank you not only for you support here today, but for all of the work you have put into making Osiris what it is today. We couldn't have gotten here without you, and it's important that we recognize that, regardless of what we think is the right course of action.

You've done a lot to make sure Osiris stays save and the good community that it is, and I am beyond grateful that you have chosen to support me for Pharaoh.

Thank you Raven.

I concur with Tomb, Lord Ravenclaw has put the crux of the matter most eloquently.

I'll be supporting you as before and I'm impressed with the way you composed yourself during your trial by fire.

Thank you Revall.

I would like to mention that I did lose my cool once or twice and that most parties involved did too, thank you though.

I know that I stated I wouldn't be making a post to this effect due to the fact I was annoyed with having my argument branded as biased, everytime I had discussed things in the last week or so.

I've then sat here and thought about it, and have decided that endorsing the right candidate for Pharoah should never be a hard choice, because it's bias in its self to discard my argument for the reason that I support a candidate.

My rambling aside, the reason I am endorsing Jesus Whale tonight is because similar to his candidate, he knows there is a problem in this community, but unlike his candidate, he offers legitimate ideas on how to fix the problem, which to be out front when saying is something that I am very optimistic about. It's one thing to preach unity and another to plan out a course towards unity.

I know that I am not an incredibly influential player here, but I truly want what's best for Osiris. For anyone who stumbles upon this thread before or during elections, I want you to really think deep about what Jesus Whale is planning, and I hope you can find some peace in knowing the region would be in very good hands with him.

I look forward to casting my vote for Jesus Whale in this upcoming election, and for a plan that would work great to making Osiris great again, I hope you do too.

Thank you Shad, I really appreciate you putting in a good word for me.

Regardless of your influence in the region, you are a member of it, and your word should be just as valuable as mine.

The only person who will most likely definitely be in my Hedjet is Sev if elected, since he's the most qualified individual to hold the spot.

If he declines, everything goes to hell in a handbasket real quick.

I approached a few people a while ago, when I was leading solidly for a few hours, but neither of them got back to me, and that election was. Invalidated.

So I have people in mind, just not sure if they'll serve, I'll be approaching them soon.
