The smell of burnt cookies wafted down the dairy isle and dissipating before it reached the deli. Koth worked in the deli and was always complaining about her ineptitude, so it seemed that she had dodged a bullet.

A voice comes over the PA system, "Attention customers of Osi-Mart, check out the specials in the bakery, including a deal of buy one get one on a dozen cookies. Thank you and have a nice day!"

Dread filled her as she scrambled to get another batch into the oven, hopelessly waiving the smoke away.
