I think it's time we approached The North Pacific again. They're an incredibly influential region, and they'd be a powerful ally if we can prove our worth to them. Other than that, I can't really think of any really demanding treaties I'd like to handle at the moment.

In the field of FA in general, I'd like to reinvigorate the diplomatic corps and get more Osirans reaching out to our friendly regions and establishing solid relations with them. I want our allies to see us not only as good friends who always have their back in times of need, but also as a competent force that can make enlightened and smart decisions regarding our foreign policy using the knowledge gained from an active diplomatic corps. Knowledge is power.

I piggybacked off it because I thought it would be good for a cheap laugh.
Ainocra wrote:Wed Jul 01, 2015 8:20 amDo you have a cabinet in mind yet?
I'm still assembling the best choices. I have a few names in mind for some positions, but I'm gonna be approaching people and discussing cabinet positions with them over the course of the next few days. I have at least one potential Scribe that is still unsure about whether or not they want to take the job, so I'm sort of on the same page as you when I say that I don't want to count any chickens before they hatch.

Would you mind telling me about what you envisioned the Osiris Fraternal Order to be? I've heard it from Venico, and Cormac the day I agreed to add my influence to the pool you wielded that fateful day but I've never truly had a chance to hear you talk about your dreams for Osiris in your own words.

As the person who was the first elected Pharaoh of the Osiris Fraternal Order, I should have made a greater attempt to keep to the wishes of the Founders of the Order, but for various reasons I could not do so. I regret that, and it is one of my largest regrets from that time.

I was so fortunate to have Venico and Cormac at my side during the OFO's creation because we all shared pretty similar ideals for the region. So it may not come as much of a surprise that my visions at the time for Osiris are probably not all that different.

At the time, I was more interested than anything to just get the genuinely awful people out of the top rung of the region, because I didn't think Osiris deserved to be a plaything for old players living out their twilight years with a chokehold on a GCR for their own amusement. Osiris has always deserved to be much more than any one person or group's trophy, and the goal of the Osiris Fraternal Order was to bring every member of the region together and move forward as a region.

I wanted to see the politics taken out of the administration of the forum, and that was accomplished. I am eternally thankful for the admin team I have, I don't pity those of you who weren't around to see the days of the KRO when people like Biyah used threats to control the root administrator and leverage his own group's power over every facet of the region.

I wanted to see a raider GCR, and to this day the Sekhmet Legion has delivered pretty much all we can ask from it given its member count. I truly believed at the time that the new government would be warmly received given the direction we went in militarily, and I think that's been pretty okay.

Overall, I just wanted a level playing field for everyone in the region, I was sick of oppression. Anyone can get to the position they desire in this region if they want it bad enough. I wanted there to be plenty of opportunities for everyone from the most seasoned veteran of NationStates to a fresh revival. I honestly believe that the OFO has been kind to my hopes for the region at that time, so don't beat yourself up too much about how things ended up.

Koth.

I know you haven't been extremely active in Osiris for some time. IRL is a large factor in that. IRL before NS always. Everyone knows that much.

What have you done for Osiris in that time? What are your accomplishments for the region in this time?

How reliable are your promises for bringing in activity?

What do you think you have to offer the region that your competition does not?

We know that you are committed to the region which you helped found. Now we need to know how committed you are to being our Pharaoh.

My inactvity in this region has been for a variety of reasons, I've already explained RL so we're not gonna touch that. When I HAVE been in game, I've been desperately trying to get the region that fathered the OFO, The Brotherhood of Malice, back to being a respectable power. I've amassed a great deal of excellent raiders with a lot of potential there, so part of the reason I feel like I can stretch my cosmopolitan legs again is because I think BoM can survive without me constantly babying it. Whether or not it actually can remains to be seen, but it's a priority of mine that will have to be put on the backburner if I am to be taken seriously at all in my position.

Another reason I haven't been incredibly active here is because I felt like I'd be more reliable as a neutral party on administrative quandaries. I relegated myself to purely an overseer role, making sure the forum and IRC channels were safe and not worrying about the politics. I've sort of changed my opinion on that lately, and I feel now like I can be a political presence in the region once again.

So my answer to your question regarding what I've done and accomplished during that time is that I've dutifully done the job I've been tasked to do: basically ensuring that Osiris doesn't get nuked by opportunists.

As for your question about how reliable my promise for activity is, I have only and will continue to only promise that I will try. If I put in the work, and others put in the work, we could either raise activity a shitload or end up not doing much at all, NS is a fickle game. I WILL promise that I won't sit idly while there's shit this region can be doing, internally and externally. This doesn't mean things won't pop up IRL that may prevent me from going as balls-deep as I wish to go, but I will focus on constructing a system that can keep this region running even if something does happen to the executive.

There's a pattern in Osiris of the region's activity being dictated by the Pharaoh's, and there's no way in hell I can sleep happy if this region can't handle itself for a little bit. A part of this is appointing a reliable and active Vizier, which would a top priority in appointing ASAP if I am elected.

What I can give Osiris that my competition cannot, or at least to this point, has not, provided is solid fact and brutal honesty on any issue that ends up on my plate. I don't bullshit around. Life's too short to play mind games. I'll be the first to admit that I don't have a prospective cabinet fully formed in my head yet. I'll be the first to admit that I'm scared to take on the responsibility of keeping this region alive and stable as its leader. While my competition can provide you question dodging and half-baked plans, I can provide this region a foundation which we can all build upon together, even if we'll have to start from the very blueprints.

From what I have observed, one of the major problems affecting the Sekhmet Legion is numbers. How do you propose to increase recruitment and what are your future goals for the military?

Numbers have always been a problem for the Legion, and indeed for nearly every GCR army ever. The first step is to keep trucking with missions and assist our allies where we can no matter how few people we can offer. The name is advertising, and through activity we breed interest. EPSA has attracted many big names lately through the activity and likeability of their organization.

I'd LOVE to be able to get the Legion holding big targets eventually. We've been able to secure regions in the past, especially when we refounded Islamic Republics of Iran many moons ago. I not only want to be able to see the Legion holding its own alongside its allies, but if possible, it would touch my black heart to see us complete a mission without any outside assistance. Through constant activity, we breed a group of soldiers who can be trusted to deploy swiftly wherever they are needed.

I'd ADORE being able to assemble this army from our own flesh and blood instead of having to rely on foreign imports, so I'll be trying to advertise the Legion as much as is not annoying to the potential recruits of Osiris.

Based on what I've read, is it correct to say that in R/D you prefer the former as a general direction for Osiris?
