[Canceled] Amendment to The State Code of Osiris

Post by Lord Ravenclaw »

Hypothetically, if convicted of a high crime by Pschent, or something relating to electoral fraud by a Court, it could be grounds for them to lose the throne. But without checking the relevant passages in the various laws, I can't say for sure and nor will I give a formal opinion on it.

I think if a Pharaoh is convicted of a significant crime, the Deshret should be able to vote for their removal. It shouldn't simply be decided by the Pschent, as that puts too large of a decision in too small of a group.

well the Pschent has the power to revoke citizenship, and like I said I couldn't see the Deshret sitting on it's hands while something like that was going on

The Deshret already has the power to recall the Pharaoh even if (s)he isn't convicted of a crime.

Also, I don't see a way to impeach and remove a peschent judge with the current law.

7. The Deshret will have the power to remove the Pharaoh from office by a three-quarters majority vote. The Deshret will have the power to remove any other government official from office by a two-thirds majority vote.

That is how it's done ^

The Attorney General (Scribe of Seshat) could, in theory also charge the relevant official with a crime and force them to step down for the duration of the case (he says unofficially). It might be an idea to hold a legal experiment to see how that would go in the Court. Hm, I'll consult my colleagues as it sounds like our Court Procedure/Policies could be of use here.
