Just as a point of clarity:

"Answer 5: I would end the requirement that states that no one can apply for the Deshret while a Keeper or Pharaoh election is going on, and replace it with a requirement that states that new members of the Deshret cannot vote in Pharaoh/Keeper elections that started before their admittance to the Deshret. I believe that this would stop potential Deshreti from being discouraged in their attempts to gain membership to this legislative body."

That is essentially what we have currently. People can apply to join the Deshret whenever. The election only prevents them from being potentially accepted until after the fact. I'm not sure how your suggestion is different.

@Jakker: Well, isn't it currently true that applications are closed during elections? I thought that that was the way that it currently worked. I apologize if I'm wrong. Anyway, my proposal involves allowing them to join the Deshret during elections, but not allowing them to vote in the ongoing election.

@Getti: I have nothing but the greatest amount of respect for the founders of the Osiris Fraternal Order. If my being a marsupial alienates or insults them, I will gladly change my name (Perhaps to Vombatian Dreizhen).

@Raven: Usually because I'm very tired.
