I recommend a FOR vote on this one. The provisions are very mild and not overtly anti-sovereigntist, it only requires that nations "certify" that objects launched will not do unnecessary damage should they fall out of orbit -- and it doesn't require that nations actually clean up anything, whether they're destroyed by an act of war or no. EDIT: And if I could also point out that the resolution simply states it "will not impede" on acts of war in space, and doesn't actually come out and forbid them otherwise?

Please, Osirans, let's stop making mountains out of legislative molehills in WA votes. This is one of the better space-based resolutions I've seen in nearly a decade of playing this game.

My personal vote is FOR this resolution.

While I do agree that this is one of the better space based resolutions I would oppose it.

If my choice is this as law or no law then I choose no law.

with a few tweaks I would probably support this though.

It appears this will pass by a very narrow margin (absent a major region flipping or a bunch of smaller regions voting nay at the last minute). The accompanying resolution, Debris Removal, which isn't so much anti-sovereigntist as it is very pro-bureaucracy, comes to vote next. If it fails, the impact of this resolution will be nearly nil (as there's not much point to preventing new debris without also cleaning up the old debris left behind).

Debris Prevention passed, 5,288 votes to 4,595. The Pharaoh voted against the resolution after a 2 AYE, 6 NAY, 0 ABSTAIN forum vote.
