Poor all of you poor regions who can't contain me to your one community. Needless to say I am in no way a regionalist.

The average "regionalist" seems to be a dying breed among NSers who've been playing the game more than a couple of months, recently.

I think it depends on how you define regionalist.

I consider myself regionalist despite being a citizen (or equivalent) of six regions, with two citizenship applications pending. I consider myself regionalist because I strive not to advocate for external interests, and I try to keep my other regional hats separate. Usually pretty successfully. To me, regionalism just means pursuing your region's interests to the exclusion of other regional or ideological interests you bring with you from elsewhere.

If by regionalist we mean people who only hold citizenship in one region, that is and has always been quite rare. Even when there used to be a more firm separation between raider and defender regions, with no raiders to be found in defender regions and vice versa, it wasn't that uncommon to find defenders in more than one defender region or raiders in more than one raider region. Maybe not to the same degree we see today, but it happened, and most who call or have called themselves regionalists aren't exclusive to one region.

Very interesting read. I was absent from NS during that time period so it's good to read an in-depth recap of the event from your perspective.
