Elections Concluded! After almost a month of existence, Oyashima has finally a Shogun (Head of Government) and the Sangiin, our regional legislature, has elected the Emperor (World Assembly Delegate) with a unanimous vote with the approval of the Shogun. They both made opening addresses view able on the forums. The two candidates for the Shogun were Lord Fest and Yama Kaji and the results of the three day election were:

The inauguration and enthronement of our newly elected Emperor took place on July 26th, which he concluded with an opening address as well.Dear citizens of Oyashima,
I am humbly honored and would like to thank you all for electing me to the office of Shogun. I have loved seeing this region grow in the past few weeks and it amazes me how far we have gotten. This could not have been done without each and every one of you contributing to Oyashima as a whole.
I have many goals that I have laid out in my campaign thread that I said I would strive to complete in my term as Shogun. These goals can be found here.
I am going to continue my efforts and work with my newly appointed cabinet to keep on recruiting new nations. I believe that many new born nations are the future of this region. All of you reading this once started as a new nation and look at you know. You are a developed, cultured citizen that has sacrificed a lot of time and effort for the goodwill and prosperity of Oyashima. I know Oyashima inside and out, as I have helped a lot to create it. I am an enthusiast of democracy and I will be sure that every single citizen will be heard. I am very open minded and I hope you will all come to me with any ideas you have. It’s not just me running this region, it’s every single one of us! We are all in this together!
As I said as I was campaigning, I want what the people want. The past few weeks, many people have come to me asking that we implement a political party system on our forums, in the form of “Clans”. I think that this would be a great opportunity to show off our political interests and generate more forum activity so I will be sure that in the next week, we have a clan system running.
Cabinet Appointments
I hereby appoint Eri as my Deputy Shogun. Eri and I (with the help of a few others) started this region and have worked endlessly to get things running. She has a lot of experience with regional politics and I am sure I can count on her to provide her assistance to the Citizens of Oyashima, including me, when we need it.
I hereby appoint Tom “Tomu” Vasentius as my Minister of War. Tom and I began our raiding career together and we have got the experience to see each other grow in the NationStates community. He is one of my oldest friends on NationStates and I couldn’t trust anyone more than him with getting the Oyashiman Imperial Army on its feet.
I hereby appoint Cat as my Minister of Foreign affairs. As one of the only people that showed interest in this position, Cat has brought me many ideas that she has for our Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Cat and I both realize that Foreign Affairs and good relations with other regions are very crucial to a Oyashima’s health and environment.
I hereby appoint Greyghost as my Minister of Internal Affairs. She is a hard worker and gets along with everybody. I look forward to working with her to orchestrate region-wide games and events, as well as hopefully reaching my 150 nation goal.
Lastly, I hereby appoint Festavo Vasentius as my Attorney General. Festavo was a good opponent in the race for Shogun. He is also one of the original citizens and knows the laws and Constitution of Oyashima inside and out. He also has a lot of experience with regional politics and governments, and I’m sure he will perform his duties as an Attorney General.

Greetings, my fellow Oyashimans.
Today, I have the humble opportunity to address the region from the Chrysanthemum Throne Room as your newly picked Emperor by Shogun Yama Kaji to whom I extend my absolute gratitude to. This is not just a new region that a few people decided to do for fun, this is a new region that have been dipped in the pool of eternity and this region will and already have people flocking to it to help grow Oyashima to not only for themselves but also for others to share in with the love, the strength, the culture, and knowledge for which they call their home. Our home, Oyashima. I feel warmly welcomed from the bottom of my heart that I am your Emperor which I swear to not only extend my love to you all here on the forum but also on the RMB that build our region in NationStates. It is absolutely essential we seize the day for our citizenry to be active in the WA to make sure that every single Oyashiman’s feel their voice is heard whether it regard a bill that could make our current lineup of legislation different or a region that is being occupied for glory or fiercely condemned. I sincerely hope that only our voice will be ever-growing in the WA but also that Oyashima will continue to blossom like a cheery tree, a chrysanthemum.
