(I hope this reminds you of House of Cards XD) Hello Hello Hello my fellow comrades I hope you are well :D This looks like its gonna be a fun election, meaning a lot of reading for you so i'll try and keep it as short as possible. Last time I was doing this, I was left with lessons to learn, but I hope that throughout this campaign you'll see that they are lessons learned ;) So what cookin?
Spoiler
The biggest thing happening on the world stage right now is Predator. Even though the NS Moderators have yet to decide on the issue, regions have already reacted and I personally applaud and support the statement we have released and am happy to see it as the course of action this region is taking. Seeing how big this is, I predict some questions. So please ask :P But Foreign Affairs in general, I am devoted to the maintaining and strengthening of our relations with other regions and reinforcing our role on the international stage. Accomplishing this can be done through military and cultural cooperation and communication between regional leaders. While communication between leaders won't be a difficult task, cooperation between communities through their militaries and cultural events will be difficult given our situation. But we are strong, capable and influential. This region has been able to get back up from coups and instability. But we can be stronger still, more capable and influential through taking steps to being louder, greater utilisation of what we already have and trying to attain what we don't. We have got it in us. We built up the Fraternal Order from the ashes, now we can do all we can to keep it alive.

The Sekhmet Legion is facing a problem which it has been facing for some time; numbers. Recruitment therefore is the obvious thing we need to do in order to get more Legionnaires. But recruiting isn't just TGing nations about joining, its about broadcasting our military activity and accomplishments, however, small, for that in itself is recruitment as we are bringing needed attention to the Sekhmet. We have not been broadcasting what the Sekhmet has done, is doing, and could be doing if newer people joined. And how we broadcast it is literally at our choosing. From the Oracle, to region-wide Telegrams and dispatches, we need to get the Sekhmet out there.

The importance and participation of Word Assembly Affairs has rather declined in Osiris as other issues take greater priority. I believe this is shown by the reducing number of citizens in voting on WA proposals over quite a period of time. The whole idea of allowing citizens to vote was to increase regional representation in the way we as a region vote in the WA, increase activity and participation as well as many other things. But seeing as most of the active citizens are in the Deshret, I would like to assign it the responsibility of deciding how we vote. I believe it would be more effective and more representative of Osiris, than what we are doing now.

There are 146 nations endorsing Tim. That is 146 votes in the World Assembly. We are in a key position to influence how WA nations vote. A region-wide TG can go a long way in convincing most, if not all, to vote a certain way on GA and SC proposals and for those who aren't members, we can use the opportunity to urge them to join their Osiran nation to the WA or join the forums. Let us capitalise on everything we can, wherever we can.

This is an issue that seems be at the forefront of Osiris' activity dilemma. I have asked alot questions around to try and gather a consensus on what Osiris feels we should do to proceed. From the replies I have received, most have said that recruitment is now needed but some were pessimistic towards the likelihood of an effective recruitment and integration institution within the region. Personally, I think we should at least to try to establish some formal institution to recruit, and should it fail it fails instead of failing to try. A lot of my experience is in recruiting and integrating people into a region, and from what i've seen it only takes four dedicated people to do that and i've seen more than four people say they are willing to recruit. But I think we as a region should have a real deep discussion on recruitment

One of the things that i've learnt from being a recruiter, and i'm sure that we all know, is that the nation being recruited has to want to at least give it a try. To do this, the TG has to either be incredibly awesome and convincing or want to be part of it from regularly hearing about it. I think that Osiris's recruitment efforts can be greatly improved if we tell the nations on-site of what we doing here and what they could be doing here. Every proposal, every contest and every election. Promoting it as what is happening and something they could be a part of. Showing them there is a bigger more active world around them that they can be a part of and leave their mark. We can, we have done, we will again.

Another thing that i've seen is that some members have been able to make their way onto the forums, but because they have member masking, we cannot PM them and try to keep them here. So we lose more potential people. Removing this restriction could greatly help in retaining those who do end up here. But seeing as this is an aspect pertaining to the forum, that is something I will be taking up with Forum Admin.

Osiris and Culture. So much potential. My attempt to create a character RP showed me that we have RPers. We have culturally motivated people here, but at the moment not much to do cultural. We are gonna change that. For some, activity may be limited but ideas are a plenty. We have had plenty of ideas from Osiran of the Week, Avatar Contests to different themes. This is Osiris. The name itself is Egyptian orientated, and along with an Egyptian theme in government it opens us to alot of cultural possibilities. But my idea is to firstly start small. We may have some RPers but not as many as we would like and their activity may be limited. So going in big will be demanding and could lead to failure. Starting off small, capitalizing on that, promoting that to attract more RPers and cultural-enthusiasts within and outside Osiris, so then we can go big. Big on culture. Big on diversity. Big on our community.
Spoiler
Right. Media. From personal experience and from what i can see in some regions, drafting, editing and publishing articles is a pain. In this region we have struggled to regularly produce and publish articles and in other regions they are having the same problem. It is hard. It is hard to regularly pump out articles in such a span of time before it considered 'old news'. For any person or body, it is a demanding responsibility. So I don't want to over-promise lots of articles, interviews etc.. knowing full well that it won't be a likelihood. Instead, I would approach this by producing detailed pieces on news as it comes and either publishing it immediately or waiting so as to make a monthly publication instead of planning on releasing a publication on a set date and failing to do so. I think that by writing articles as they come, it allows use greater flexibility on when to publish rather than publishing too late or failing to publish.

With the decline of The Rejected Times due to Unibot's departure, there is a vacuum that has yet to be filled. Some regions have and are trying to take that spot. Despite our limitations, we can damn well try to fill that vacuum with some good Osiran journalism ;) In that, we are taking those steps of outreach and getting a bigger voice.
Osiris Works. Osiris works because of each and every single one of you. But we want and can make Osiris work better.
It is a pleasure, an honour, and will be a learning experience to run in this election and hopeful serve you as Pharaoh. So without further adieu ....

Full support, Andrew. You have solid laid out plans, solid ways to reach them, and an overall strong fleet of ideas. I think you'd make a GREAT pharaoh as you're smart, active, and dedicated to every job you undertake. You have my vote.

This looks like a good platform, Andrew. Best of luck! I do have a few questions:

1. Do you plan to make more use of Regional Officers and, if so, how?

2. In regard to the Predator crisis, how will you handle that from a foreign affairs perspective? Are you open to the possibility of terminating relations with DEN or The Black Hawks if that seems appropriate, or are you already predisposed against that course of action?

3. Will you commit to not nominating a Predator user to serve as your Vizier or Scribe of War?

4. Could you please list all of the regions in which you currently hold citizenship, as well as any positions you hold in any other regions?

5. Will you be going back to the original blue version of the regional flag, the purple version, or some other color?

Thanks!

1) That would be resourceful. Allotting appropriate controls to certain Scribes, such as Embassies to FA and Polls to Culture, is a way of removing the burden from the Pharaoh shoulders and stop the dependency on them to execute most things game side, which is something the region wants and needs to do.

2) How I'd handle it? I would like to be deliberative and careful in the regions approach. I completely agree and will comply with the statement we have released regarding the issue. I understand that some regions have reacted, before Moderations ruling, but seeing how delicate this is, I wouldn't want to set a course before having the full picture. Regarding the termination of relations? I am not already predisposed towards terminating relations. A foolish oversight, yes but intentional, so far as we know, no. I would like to formally deliberate with the Deshret on whether termination of relations would be in the regions interests. For this is a matter that affects our entire community as an invader region, not a consequence for region and a select few individuals. And I alone cannot make that decision.

3) Regard the Vizer, yes I can. Regard SoW, no I cannot. How many Legionnaires are in the Sekhmet? The Roster says 7 but one of them isn't active any more so 6. How many are regularly active? even fewer. With most of the more active and experienced candidates either guilty by admission or association and other possible candidates possibly uninterested or too busy. I'd be tying myself down and cutting the Sekhmet off from willing participation and experienced leadership which it needs (especially if we want to be running regular ops) and could also possibly make it far more difficult for us to get the Sekhmet really running. If they did so happen to know it was illegal and still used it, well that's another story, but as those who have utilised it said they didn't know about its illegality I see no reason to not believe them and exclude them from helping out as they haven't given me nor the region any reason not to. So no, i can't commit to that part.

4) That can be found in my signature under the heading "Positions". But as of now the only government position I hold in any other region is in TNP as a Court Justice.

5) I really like the auburn one which you are using as your profile pic. The colours go good together no? :P Or maybe instead have a regional poll so nations decide which to have.

Thank you for the questions :D

Thank you for your answers, Andrew. I'm afraid I can't vote for you as one of my top choices if you won't commit to not nominating a Predator user as your Scribe of War, but best of luck, nonetheless.

What's the first thing you think of when I say "Osiris in 5 years time?" (Sorry for the weird question, I just find this lets people go a bit more into their potential ideas and plans)

Regents?
[6/3/2016 19:34:30] Lord Mazrim Rahl (Biyah): obviously she was gathering spell regents, so she could cast her end-of-term mass death spell. Young sorceress' must kill their Master before they are allowed to leave.
[6/3/2016 19:35:52] Gradea Sanguine: Makes sense
[6/3/2016 19:36:39] Lord Mazrim Rahl (Biyah): Hence, pray she learns well and doesn't have a dunce as a teacher... else the next generation that kills her will be weak, snobby and only half-trained. That is how society falls
[6/3/2016 19:37:30] Lord Mazrim Rahl (Biyah): I am a proud member of MAWS. Men against weak sorcerers/eses

Sorry I forgot to answer this. Thinking of something in five years time is a rather indistinct for as I know what I would like, bit changing circumstances tend to lead to other things taking place. But plainly put is I would like to see the Osiris we have know (the Fraternal Order) but one that is ever more prosperous, growing and continuously active. Our way to achieving this will be long and hard fought, but I do believe we will get there.
