A Query to the Pharaoh and the Priesthood of Ma'at on Voting Policy

Post by Datford-Zyvetskistaahn »

I am curious as to the policy of the Pharaoh with respect to what votes are counted for determining His own vote in the World Assembly. I am aware that in some other regions there is a requirement that, in order for one's vote to be counted, one's nation in that region must be in the World Assembly (or serving in the region's military). As far as I am aware, there is no such requirement here, however, I am not overly involved in World Assembly matters, either here or elsewhere, so would appreciate if the Pharaoh or a Priest of Ma'at could enlighten me if I am incorrect.

I would also like to ask whether there are circumstances in which the vote on the forum would be disregarded and, if so, in what circumstances would such occur.

A Query to the Pharaoh and the Priesthood of Ma'at on Voting Policy

Thank you for the question, Elder Datford-Zyvetskistaahn!

So, to sum it up as briefly as I can, the current policy with respect to what votes are counted is that any citizen has the right to vote within the Temple of Ma'at on posted World Assembly resolutions. There is no World Assembly requirement, or anything of the sort, just a valid citizenship. In the case of a forum tie, my go-to is going whichever way the region at-large is voting.

As for circumstances in which the forum vote would be disregarded, I would say that is only likely to happen in the case of treaty obligations if there are any. The best example I can think of is the vote to Condemn The Land of Kings and Emperors from a while back which Osiris would have voted Nay upon due to said obligation to the treaty. In the General Assembly, though, and most times within the Security Council, I will always go with what the vote on the forum goes with.
