[big][big][big]And there you fucking go again! You know damn well that those fucking "Hey Halsey" posts of yours annoy and bug me and you've also been told to fucking stop!
I would like to request Michael SanArkus be temporarily banned or at least have something done for his blatant disregard of being told to knock of those fucking "Hey Halsey" posts that he does only to annoy me. I would try to sue him or something but being deliberately annoyed isn't covered by any of the two methods of suing someone. The civil suit option however seems like it would've in this case. Someone throw Mike out of the damn bar NOW![/big][/big][/big]
NationStates Population
2014 marked the most stable year in NationStates in terms of population over the past 12 years. Our population fluctuated by only 71 nations throughout the year compared with 193 in 2013, and 222 in 2012. 2011 had a lower amount of fluctuation in a year in which we were 60% smaller than currently. Nevertheless, we ended the year 154 Nations smaller than our high of 543 Nations in 2013. This reduction was due mostly to the systematic automation of recruitment which has flooded the game with a plethora of Regions all trying to recruit the same newbies. My old strategy of manually remitting one recruitment telegram at a time to every new nation became inefficient and obsolete. Regardless, we have held our own as an alternative to much of the Regions in the Jennifer Government Land.
Population History of NationStates Region:*
Year: HIGH - LOW
2014: 389 - 318
2013: 543 - 350
2012: 414 - 192

2014 Year in Review ~ NationStates Region, The World Assembly, and The Security Council
In 2014 there were 40 new resolutions in the World Assembly in which the Delegate voted on 36. Of these 36 votes, 27 or 75% of time the vote agreed with the majority whereas 9 or 25% of the time the vote was with the minority. As such, the NationStates Region tends to vote with the majority on practical resolutions yet remain a minority voice on legislation we find meritless.
Additionally, there were 21 Repeal Resolutions in the World Assembly in 2014 of which one was thrown out due to technicalities and another was not voted on by the Delegate. Of the remaining 19 repeal votes 15 or 79% of time the vote agreed with the majority. Moreover, only two of these Repeal attempts were related to legislation passed in 2014.
The Commend/Condemn silliness of the Security Council continued in 2014. There were 19 Commend attempts in 2014 of which two were tossed due to technicalities, 6 were defeated and 11 were passed. However, of the defeated or disallowed, three were rewritten and later passed meaning 11 of the 16 Nations (69%) were eventually Commended. Given our Anti-Security Council stance NationStates voted Against all 19 resolutions. We also voted for the two Commend Repeals with both passing. The Condemn vote in the Security Council was 3-7 with two Nations getting multiple attacks. NationStates voted against all 10. Additionally, we voted for all 6 repeals of which 5 were successful.
The most ridiculous and dangerous power of the Security Council is the Liberation provision. In 2014 13 Regions were subject to Liberation votes with 9 falling to the recklessness of the Council. Seven of these Liberation Resolutions were eventually Repealed but more as a ploy rather than due to the illegitimate and manipulative nature of this abuse of power. Typically, NationStates Region voted against all 13 Liberation votes and for all 11 Liberation Repeals.
We continue to stand against Liberations as merely a means to take over control of a Region or to usurp the game power of the freely elected Delegate. Our own region was subject to such manipulation of the rules whereby our 11 years of stability was shaken were it not for some gracious support by the Jennifer Government community.
