The war on Defenders isn't over. Defending isn't dead, just weakened. We all know how fast situations can turn around. Last weekend minor Defenders mustered 30 updaters to attempt a liberation on Anarchy. If Osiris was to seize a region and reinforce it with 10 or 15 endorsements on point, no overpile, Defenders would come for it. Defeating such liberation attempt would be a very good display of power I assure you. I encourage the new ISRA commander to go for something like that, instead of joining Defenders in the liberation of Anarchy. Something I'm sure many people would disagree with.

I'm not actually advocating liberation of Anarchy, but now that my point has been completely missed I think I'll stop bothering.

Rather more like a protection racket with founder-less regions, I should think.

My position is specifically in regards to UCRs. Osiris is founderless by default. We did exactly that when Tiamat went founderless, in fact we prepped early for it and the transition was smooth because we took a simple step towards self preservation. Having a founder is simply a must for a UCR that wants to retain security. As a GCR the situation is different, and you have to rely on lesser measures in combination to protect oneself.
I am not advocating an 'if you're founderless you're fucked 'cause imma come and get you' position , what I'm saying is that being founderless as a UCR is THE major concern to address if you want to retain your regional sovereignty. It's a gaping hole in defence and is just how the game works. There are certainly downsides to moving but these can be dealt with to a large degree. Rmb data can be saved, forums can be kept or linked from new forums for example.

As to Imperialism, I'd say that you guys have a much harder time than we do as pure raiders. Essentially I look at Imperialism as a gp/rp hybrid, with power being projected in line with ideals, philosophies, in game events and diplomatic considerations. Working out a consensus on this is probably one of the most difficult things, and not one I envy. It is compounded when you are in able to exercise more power, and your decisions have a greater impact.
And though balance is bladed and furtive abides
It can't mask the tempest that's burning inside.

*looks between Merryl and Zaolet* Twins?

Anyway`s though I`d voice a small opoin to back Cormacorne (he will kill me for that later) up. I`m rather new to world of raiders, imperialists and etc but I agree with Cormac. We can have a milltery without greifing, and it does damage are image. Really not much more to say, though if we did grief I`d say keep under the guidelines Vac set up. War Wombats idea is a interesting one, though whether or not many founder less regions would agree to it. Also Merryl Cormacs not trying to punish anyone for there opoins this whole convo comes from him wanting to listen to them. If I misread that comment though sorry forgive me, and have a cookie.

Cormac wrote:Mon Aug 04, 2014 5:43 amAs we've recently seen, raider regions such as The Black Riders and Lone Wolves United can't actually be trusted, as the former have decided to be hostile toward us based on my own personal dislike of them and the latter had a second in command who was plotting a coup against us.

I'm not seeing how it's in Osiris' interests to grief regions, thus isolating ourselves from non-imperialist and non-raider regions, and boxing ourselves into a corner with a handful of imperialist regions and a handful of raider regions, the latter of which can't be trusted. The three currently in existence -- The Black Riders, The Black Hawks, and Lone Wolves United -- have all plotted to coup Osiris.

So, tell me: How is it in our interests to box ourselves into a corner with a pack of hungry wolves?
These comments, insofar as they reference The Black Hawks, concern me greatly. I stand ready to give whatever reassurance is necessary of the trustworthiness of TBH.

My lack of trust is personal, having been among the individuals who discovered The Black Hawks' sleeper agent, Jakker, in Osiris as Lemon Love last June, poised to take our Delegacy and no doubt do serious and lasting damage to our region.

From a regional standpoint, Osiris has moved past this as it was under a prior government that had a different alignment than that of the Osiris Fraternal Order. We have no issues with relations with The Black Hawks, nor working together on military operations, and indeed the Imperial Sovereign Realms Army is currently supporting TBH's operation in Canada and I've expressed opposition on behalf of Osiris to Liberate Canada. So we are happy to turn the page on previous issues between The Black Hawks and Osiris. My personal trust isn't easy to win, isn't really on the table, and isn't really necessary for relations between our regions, though.
