My fellow Osirans,
Today is a bittersweet day for me. I've been your Pharaoh now for 3 months, exactly. I have enjoyed my time, and you've always been so kind to me. I started this game 10 years ago, and had always looked at GCRs with a sense of awe and a sense of mystique. I never dreamt that I would make it to the delegacy of one, nor did I have the desire to do so. And yet, here I stand, at the end of a term, still in awe of such a thing. Today, I leave office to rejoin WA mobility and Gameplay.
While some might say this was a successful term, I would then look at the things that I did not get to do. While I might have wished for more time, I know that my successor, whomever that may be, will continue to build on the solid foundation that we, as a region, have begun. While there may be changes that occur over time, I'd encourage the region to follow the path it sees as best for itself. We're Osirans; let's do what's best for Osiris, always.
Before moving on to my Hedjet, I'd like to take a moment to commend Vac as the new Keeper. Vac, you've done well so far, friend, and I hope you keep up the zeal to make Osiris an even greater region. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Thank you, friend.
I'd like to thank my Hedjet, for contributing greatly to the successes of my term. I could not have done this without them.
- Alexa, your forms for integration help make the process not only smoother, but they look great, too.
- Bluteisen, you helped organize the Sekhmet, and your job was made more difficult than it should have been with the murkiness of ISRA command and Sekhmet command. Thanks for sticking through all of that.
- Rach, you helped to organize our first festival, and have given us a good idea of how a festival should look on the planning end.
- NES, you and I have had many conversations, and it's difficult to praise you publicly for the work you did, with the nature of your position. I thank you for being an advisor to me this term.
- Abacathea, although you intended to do nothing this term, you had to do things, and you did, indeed, do them. Thanks for keeping our justice system running in Osiris, and setting up a solid foundation for future Seshat.
Treize, you've really been an asset to the OFO since its inception. You defined the role of Keeper, and have set the bar very high for others to live up to. Your work in the WA has been outstanding as well. I'm glad that you've been there for me as a Pharaoh, and as a friend. You told me once that your days of destruction are behind you, and that you feel like building something. Keep building this region. You've got the abilities and skills to make this happen, and I hope you continue to devote such energy to these efforts. In accordance with the Osiran Holidays and Honors Act, I present you with The Scale of Ma'at. Your contributions to the Deshret are second to none, and you have served faithfully as a member of the Atef.
And last, but certainly not least, is Cormac. You've been my right hand man throughout the past 3 months, and we've become good friends since I came to Osiris in December. We've had so many conversations over the past 8 months, and you've always been a great sounding board, or even just an ear to hear whatever it was I wanted and needed to say. For many of the successes I've had, you've been there in the background making things happen. You've been a trusted advisor, and for that I am thankful. I must say that you've certainly kept things interesting over the past 3 months, and I look forward to what you will do for Osiris going forward. Your service to the region is unquestionable, and your efforts to keep things moving are laudable. Between the two of us, Foreign Affairs saw a great spurt of activity very early and set the tone for the region during the term. I could list all the things you've done just during my term, but this speech is already much longer than I had set out to write. Know that I appreciate everything you've done for the region, both OFO and pre-OFO. I am honored to call you friend. So without further ado, in accordance with the Osiran Holidays and Honors Act, I present to you The Violet Jewel of Atum which is the region's highest honor and is awarded to you for your longtime, outstanding overall contributions to the region. No one in Osiris today deserves this honor more than you.
Farewell, Osiris. You'll never be forgotten by me.
As the crowd cheered and applauded the honors, the Pharaoh saluted his people, waved one last time, turned, walked toward the door of his private chambers to prepare for his journey back to Terenuthis. He paused at the doorstep, glanced over his shoulder and smiled.
