Statement of Resignation

Dearest citizens of Osiris,

I am writing with a heavy heart but determined visage, a statement of my immediate resignation from my offices within the Government of the Kingdom of Osiris, the Osiris Fraternal Order.

Having served Osiris for over two years, and as the current longest standing member of the government, I was deeply honoured and thrilled to be elected Pharaoh on the off-site government, a small community which has been plagued with inactivity at all echelons on it that I have done my best to combat but found myself stymied at various turns by people who simply cannot commit what I expect from them.

However, over the course of three months I noticed that inactivity was worsening, caused, some say by a decrease in activities available due to a lack of activity from the Scribe assigned for Culture, others say due to my own mismanagement and refusal to ask the Deshret to recall officials.

Until recently I did not have the ability to dismiss my own cabinet ministers. I was stuck with them unless I wanted the public embarrassment for the minister to have them recalled via the Deshret. I was also stuck with a cabinet system that was not working, with too much inactivity and my deepest desire to stir the boat as I remember only too well the problems under the past delegates.

Over the past month, I have suffered through various RL issues which have compounded with NS issues to make life in Osiris untenable for me to continue.

In the interests of not dragging anyone through the mud, no matter how much I want to right now, I will simply bid you all farewell. I am resigning World Asssembly Status and my Vizier, Ikand, will take the Delegacy at Minor.

I would like to thank the various denizens of this region for their messages of support over the months, as well as the President of Europeia, Delegates of the North, South and East Pacifics for their support and friendship over the time I have been in NationStates, Minister of Foreign Affairs and more recently as Pharaoh of Osirs.

And finally, to acknowledge something that Astarial once said to me, you are right. Completely and utterly right and I am sorry I didn't realise it sooner.

I acknowledge that I have failed as Delegate of Osiris, through my failings to take my own cabinet ministers to task and meet my own expectations in how Osiris should run, and for that I apologise.

Thanks for your service, Raven. You served Osiris to the best of your ability and helped lead it to a place where the idea of stability is no longer scoffed at. On behalf of the IDU, thank you for that, and also for helping to restore Osiris' status in the international community.

I wish you the best, and I know I speak for a great many people, including those in the diplomatic community with whom you served and interacted for many moons now.
