Again, I'm not saying shit about these guys, I'm asking questions because I don't have experience with them.

"Yes men"? You give me far too much credit.

Nothing wrong with asking questions, I was just responding to your points. If I seemed hostile, I apologize; my debate style just tends to be aggressive in general, but I'm usually not actually angry or hostile. :P

I wouldn't characterize myself as a "yes man" though. I just opposed three of the five Atef nominations.

Klaus, I would indeed like to thank you for your questions. I've found that outside opinions are important to the nature of governance in general, especially when you are dealing with official actions.

There is good reason to have legal systems that really scrutinize actions. For instance, there are times that people will, without intention, violate a constitutional right or a small provision of a constitution in their governmental capacity that maybe the particular individual hadn't thought about before.

At the end of the day, a constitution is an idea. Its a body of words which people (in RL Governments) swear their lives to protect, defend, and uphold. Within the tides world history -- that's a crazy idea. Before constitutions, people used to swear to kings or emperors. Mere mortals (these kings) would proclaim that they had divine right to rule over people however they pleased, even to be cruel and unjust.

Therefore, upon realizing the idea of governance without a king or dictator running the show... after outlining the rules on which such a system was to be founded.. there needed to be someone to say what was permissible! After all, no one would follow the rules to 'american' football, if there were no referees to enforce them!

That is why I exist! I am a referee of laws, and laws would have no importance, if there is not a judiciary to enforce them.

To really get to the point -- I've been a Judge in NS since I founded my nation over 6 years ago. I've seen governments rise and fall. I've carried with the visions of law from all sorts of views. By this point in my career I consider myself an "NS Jurist", someone who is a studier and peer among peers in NS laws. I hope that since Osiris has started afresh, that I can hopefully use my skill here to build and be a part of a new and great region that is willing to let its scars heal. Eventually so, that this can become a home, not just for me, but for others.

Also, I generally dislike spam games unless they are on IRC. Its much more fun to spam and play poker at the same time. :) :P

That tends to happen as a direct consequence of spending time in GP, I find.

Seconded.

And if you want to come across less aggressive in debate you really shouldn't swing that axe above your head when you make your points :ninja:
