Nobility and Honors ActI. Definition and Purpose
(1) Noting the inadequacy of codification of the nobility and the mechanism for the creation of such, the Nobility and Honors Act seeks to remedy this through standardizing both the mechanism and titles which may be created by the Pharaoh.
(2) Noting the desire for greater cultural enrichment and the expansion of the regional honors as already defined in the Regional Traditions Act, the Nobility and Honors Act seeks to expand upon the role of the aforementioned.
II. On the Peerage and Styles of Address
(1) The Pharaoh may establish regional nobility and royalty as defined herein in order to reward regional service and for the purpose of providing cultural enrichment to Osiris.
(2) All regional nobility and royalty previously established shall be made to conform to those titles described herein, with adjustments made as required in accordance with the Pharaoh's prerogative, with or without the advisement of the honored.
(3) Any titles of nobility held by the Heir Apparent will be withheld upon ascension to the Throne of Osiris, and may be utilized following their abdication or removal unless otherwise proscribed by statutory law or removed in accordance with the Pharaoh's prerogative. No portion of this act shall be construed as to dis-entitle those awarded titles by the Pharaoh upon ascension to the Throne.
(4) The Pharaoh's formal style of address shall be "Her/His/Their Royal Majesty, [their name], Scion of Osiris" and "Your Royal Majesty, Scion of Osiris" in direct address; "Your Royal Majesty" shall be the address utilized in informal settings.
(5) Those individuals whom have formerly served as Pharaoh - known informally as "Pharaohs Emeritus" - shall be granted the royal title of "Hasal-Pharaoh" upon abdication or removal unless otherwise proscribed or otherwise having been dis-entitled to its usage. The formal style of address for Hasal-Pharaohs shall be "Her/His/Their Majesty, [their name], Child of Osiris" and "Your Majesty, Child of Osiris" in direct address; "Your Majesty" shall be the address utilized in informal settings.
(6) The individual appointed by the Pharaoh as Heir Apparent shall, ex officio, be rewarded the royal title of "Khava'dath of the Sands" upon appointment. The formal style of address shall be "Her/His Royal Highness, [their name], Blessed of Du'at" and "Your Royal Highness, Blessed of Du'at" in direct address; "Your Highness" shall be the address utilized in informal settings.
(7) The individuals of Cormac Skollvaldr, Venico BrightAxe, and Ambroscus Koth Vytherov, by explicit provision, shall be awarded the noble title "Bru'uh of Osiris" upon assent of this act for their service in the establishment of the Osiris Fraternal Order. The formal style of address shall be "The Bru'uh of Osiris, [their name]"; "The Bru'uh [their name]" shall be the address utilized in informal settings.
(8) The noble title of "Khetemtai in the House of [Deity]" shall be considered equivalent to archducal or ducal titles found within other regions, its object to be filled by the name of a deity considered befitting of the individual to be honored, based upon the Pharaoh's prerogative. The formal style of address shall be "Her/His/Their Most Serene Grace, [their name]" and "Your Most Serene Grace" in direct address; "Your Grace" shall be the address utilized in informal settings.
(9) The noble title of "Irypatha of [Location or Artifact]" shall be considered equivalent to the title of marquess/marchioness as found within other regions, its object to be filled either by the name of a location or some object or artifact considered befitting of the individual to be honored, based upon the Pharaoh's prerogative. The formal style of address shall be "Her/His/Their Serene Grace, [their name]" and "Your Serene Grace" in direct address; "Your Grace" shall be the address utilized in informal settings.
(10) The noble title of "Heritepa'a of [Location]" shall be considered equivalent to the title of count/countess as found within other regions (and "nomarch," as previously utilized within Osiris), its object to be filled with the name of a location considered befitting of the individual to be honored, based upon the Pharaoh's prerogative. The formal style of address shall be "Her/His/Their Grace, [their name]" and "Your Grace" in direct address; "Your Grace" shall be the address utilized in informal settings.
(11) The noble title of "Hatyaa" shall be considered equivalent to the title of baron/baroness as found within other regions. The formal style of address shall be "The Lady/Lord/Leige [their surname or name]," with preference to the honored's surname, where applicable.
(12)The noble title of Medjai shall be considered equivalent to the title of Knight/Dame found within other regions.The formal style of address shall be "Medjai [their surname or name]," with preference to the honored's surname, where applicable.
III. On Regional Honors
(1) Noting the cultural enrichment provided to Osiris by those regional honors afforded by the Regional Traditions Act, further chivalric and military orders are hereby created to serve in compliment to such.
(2) Those individuals previously awarded the "Violet Jewel of Atum," shall be immediately inducted into the Most Ancient and Noble Order of Atum. They shall be afforded the style of address "Lady/Lord/Leige [their name]" in all settings, formal and informal.
(3) Those individuals previously awarded the "Crown of Osiris," shall be immediately inducted into the Most Ancient and Noble Order of Osiris. They shall be afforded the style of address "Lady/Lord/Liege [their name]" in all settings, formal and informal.
(4) Those individuals previously awarded the "Scepter of Aset," shall be immediately inducted into the Ancient Order of Aset. They shall be afforded the style of address "Madam/Master/Ser [their name]" in all settings, formal and informal.
(5) Those individuals previously awarded the "Eye of Horus," shall be immediately inducted into the Ancient Order of Horus. They shall be afforded the style of address Madam/Master/Ser [their name]" in all settings, formal and informal.
(6) Those individuals previously awarded the "Sword of Sekhmet," shall be immediately inducted into the Ancient and Martial Order of Sekhmet. They shall be afforded the style of address "Madam/Master/Ser [their name]" in all settings, formal and informal.
(7) Those individuals previously awarded the "Scale of Ma'at," shall be immediately inducted into the Ancient Order of Ma'at. They shall be afforded the style of address "Madam/Master/Ser[their name]" in all settings, formal and informal.
(8) Those individuals awarded the "Khopesh of Montu," shall be immediately inducted into the Ancient and Martial Order of Montu. They shall be afforded the style of address "Madam/Master/Ser [their name]" in all settings, formal and informal.
(9) Those individuals awarded the "Key to [City]," shall be afforded the style of address "[Their Name] Lord/Lady/Leige of [City] in all settings, formal and informal.
IV. On Record-Keeping
(1) The Chief Scribe will be entrusted the duty of maintaining a registry of all currently held royal titles and regional honours.
(2) The Chief Scribe is reserved the right to entrust the upkeep of the registry to a chosen associate.
(3) The registry will be made publicly visible in the Temple of Bes.
V. Miscellany
(1) The Council of Scribes may pass non-binding resolutions recommending the award of a royal title, or the creation of a new royal title.
(2) No person may be awarded a title or honor without their consent.
(3) All honors listed in Article III are to be considered civic honors, with discretion given to the Council in their bestowment, in contrast to royal titles.
