Magic has existed ever since the beginning of the human race. It has influenced every aspect of human life, and even effected the very geological makeup of the planet. From 10,000 to 6,000 B.C.E., the mages of the world fought a deadly war using regular mortals as pawns in a chess match for the fate of the world. It was in that war that what are now conventionally called demons and Angels were summoned to this earth en masse, and the disease of Vampirism was the result of the the first known instance of a biological weapon by one group of mages.
In the end, the Republic of Atlantis, the youngest of the magical nations and based on the island-continent of the same name, won out, defeating its rivals and ushering in 1,000 years of dominance in what mages today call the Pax Atlantia. But its power created hubris and corruption from within, and a new group of mages calling themselves Necromancers, using an army of undead monstrosities, fought a civil war for control of Atlantis. The war ended with the entire continent being sunk to the bottom of the ocean, leaving the mages elsewhere fractured and stranded, scrabbling to survive in a world full of mortals that now had no need to fear the mages of Atlantis anywhere as much as they once did.
The mages response was simple: They vanished from the pages of history, destroying as many records of their existence as they could find, fading into legends. Eventually, all supernatural beings of the world did the same, fading into the shadows and hiding from the ever more numerous humans. These beings fought eachother for power, and also to influence the progression of the human race.
In the ensuing millennia, centuries and decades, Mages have, among other things, waged a silent war against the necromancers. Sometimes with the help of clued in Mortals, sometimes without, the Conclave of Magic, the mage government formed in the late 3,000s B.C.E. has fought against the necromancers and the 12 liches (mages that have become undead, but retained their free will, powers and sentience) that lead them.
Leading the way in this war is a group of mages known as the Deathstalkers. Combat mages of the highest order, they track down and kill any necromancer that hits their radar. Fighting in small Squads, many in the Conclave, and many mortals in the know, consider them one of the few things standing between mankind, and total undead apocalypse. While that may not be entirely accurate, their power is great, and the fight against necromancy is not one to be taken lightly....

So, as you may be able to guess, this rp will involve you playing a member of the Conclave's 'Special Forces', as it were, the Deathstalkers. Using magic, cunning, technology and pure luck, you will help continue the fight against the evils of necromancy. I would be 'GM', managing the NPCs and the bad guys.
The specific plot will involve the necormancer Viktor Von Korranberg, who is notable for his attempts to play the Armaggeddon Lottery (that is, start the end of the world). He's had a hand in a number of plagues in the last several centuries, and is believed to have played an indirect role in the Cuban Missile Crisis, though no one knows for sure.
Post below if you're interested. If three or more people say yes, we'll give it a go.

Never underestimate the power of cynicism, pessimism and negativity to prevent terrible things from happening. Only idealists try to build the future on a mountain of bodies.
Unfocused populism is just as dangerous, if not more so, to a Republic's survival as creeping authoritarianism.
Tell people how you feel, honestly and frankly. If you like someone, tell them. If you don't like them, tell them - the world would be a better place if we all knew where we stood.
