Pharaoh's Day Closing Statement

Pharaoh's Day Festival: Closing Statement
It is quite astonishing to think back to Osiris over a year ago, and compare it to Osiris now. It's astounding to think that the installment of the transitional government which led to what we call "OFO 2.0" was almost exactly a year ago. Since then, we lost some members and gained some more, but I am proud to say that this is the most successful and peaceful Osiris has been in a long time. Since the feat such a short year ago, we have cycled through two incredible Pharaohs. Cormac served us greatly, and he really helped us get back on our feet. There were some differences down the line but when are there not? Cormac was a key proponent in shaping Osiris into what it is today. We thank him for his service as our Pharaoh. His abdication came as a surprise to most of us, leaving the fate of Osiris in the hands of Griffin. I didn't know him at the time, only from what I've read, and to be quite honest he scared the jeebies out of me. But now that I served one term as Chief Scribe and am partially through my first term as Chief Vizier, I've come to realize the insurmountable contributions he has made to Osiris. During his term so far, we have amended the Scroll of Ma'at in ways that establish the Pharaoh as a figurehead role and gives more power to the scribes and their elected Chief Vizier. We've joined the GCR Sovereignty Accords which has brought us closer with our friends in The Pacific, The West Pacific, and our sister sinker Balder. Lastly, we are concluding a successful festival that has brought a lot of fun and celebration to Osiris.

As I close this short address, I want everyone to realize the true reason behind this festival. It is comprised of spam games, a movie night, voting for a new flag, insulting the Pharaoh, awarding honors to those that have justly and righteously served Osiris, and more. Though we celebrate these days annually because these are the days that our founders fixed Osiris. They fixed the elected position of the Pharaoh so there was no longer any backroom deals, bribery, and corruption among Osiris. Thanks to them, Osiris is not divided anymore. We are all united under one flag, one government, that everyone plays a role in. Like a family, forever Fraternal.

Hail the OFO!

None of this would have been possible without the extraordinary efforts of Baron Koptos and every member of our community. I am proud to have reigned during this inaugural festival.

Hail Osiris.

Aren't we glad we have a Holidays Act?
This was well done and I am proud to have gotten to see it happen.
