Greetings citizens and VIP's of the greatest region in NS, Osiris. The beginning of 2017 has brought about new events that are worth acknowledging!
On march 3rd, 2017, The first Holiday act was presented to the Palace of Scribes by Omega. The topic was further discussed in the Palace and as well as Discord and what a hot topic that became. After the suggestions for celebratory dates and names were given and discussed, official dates of Regional Holidays were announced as follows:
Cash Day- February 26th;
a day to honor the birthday of the greatest man in music, Johnny Cash
Pharoh's Day- April 18th;
a day to celebrate our government and our Pharoh.
Foundation Day- October 18th;
a day to celebrate the creation of Osiris
The 8th of March 2017 the Holidays Act was put to a vote by the Chief Scribe Sygian. At 4:10 p.m. on the 11th of March 2017, the voting period came to a close. As per the Rules of the Council, any votes which had been cast after this time was considered invalid. The Council of Scribes voted to pass the Holiday Act with the voting record as follows:

With the first holiday celebration coming up in April as Pharaoh's Day, it will be interesting to see how the citizens of Osiris take part in this as well as the Pharoah himself! I went around the region and asked a few citizens what their thoughts were on our first official celebration coming up and this is what they had to say:
"Clearly Mghnb shall hold a military parade in his honor" leader of Mghnb stated aswell as going so far as to state that it should resemble a "North Korean" parade and quote "but with a massive picture of Griffin instead." This will prove to be a grand celebration across the region and i believe i speak for most when I say that it will prove to he quite an eventful day!"For the Pharaoh's day and many of the holidays I think we can encourage people to get together on Discord and in-game on the RMB to discuss and celebrate. For the Pharaoh's day specifically we can write up a brief summary of the Pharaoh's term and accomplishments and hopefully allow for an open dialogue between the Pharaoh and the citizens, unless he's prefer to take his own day off which would also be entirely appropriate if not even more so." In other news,
as of March 17th, 2017, elections were announced for a new Chief Scribe! They are currently being held in the Osirian Palace of Scribe's Election Precinct. According to the Scroll of Ma'at, the Council of Scribes are responsible for electing a Chief Scribe to preside over the Council of Scribes according to its procedural rules, and to exercise discretion in determining procedures where no rules exist.
Our candidates on the ballot have been disclosed as follows:
¤Adytus - Nominated by West Jurmany
¤Ophiuchus the snake charmer - self Nominated
It is to be noted that Any citizen admitted to citizenship prior to the beginning of this election period which was on the 9th of March 2017 is and will be eligible to vote for Chief Scribe. Voting will close at 1:30 a.m. EST on March 20, 2017. It is to be also noted that current Chief Scribe and Vizier of WA Affairs, Sygian, was also nominated by Ophiuchus the snake charmer, a current candidate for this position to make things a little more interesting but it was respectfully declined.
As of now, the votes seem to be in favor of Adytus who is currently Chief Vizier. His statement proves that, if he wins the election, he may have a few candidates in mind.
"I think it is time that I do something else other than Chief Vizier. Do not get me wrong, the position is great, and I had a lot of fun doing it!".
"I promise that I will always be around to make sure the job gets done. Appointing active, and encouraging deputies for the job is also a number one priority for me. So if you are interested in drafting laws, please telegram me, or send me a message on discord" Adytus.
With that being said, I had the opportunity to speak to one of the rumored candidates in the running for such position once it opens up.

For one some regions have recently been unresponsive to our requests to establish nonaggression pacts; I hope to oversee a concerted effort to reach out to these regions and make this happen for them and for Osiris. In fact, I hope to establish nonaggression pacts and treaties with any region that is receptive to the idea and develop an extensive support network for Osiris and, by extension, for regions willing to engage in formal relations with us.
