First I need to apologize to everyone for the crazy late submission of this thread … I have finals this week and it is kicking my ass. I also am having some trouble pulling together what should be said here, but I’ll give it my best. I think I’ve probably ended up ceding this one to Sygian already with my shitty attendance over the last week but that’s fine, I’m sure he will do a great job if elected.

As some of you know already, I am wrektopia, Vizier of Community Affairs, poll aficionado, Johnny Cash enthusiast, spamalot fan, and recently dethroned (whoever is #1 now … I’m coming for you, fool) Osiris drug lord. I came here a few months ago during the Halloween zombie apocalypse because this place was doing it right and have since been hanging around in the region, in Discord and on the forum. After being contacted by Adytus after first joining Osiris and helping him out with polls and talking on the RMB I was appointed a vizier. I’ve been working mostly on polls since then but have been sending out telegrams and chatting on the RMB (when available, which has been pretty much every other day except for the last few awful weeks of exam bullshit). I’ve gotten at least a couple people in the region who were probably being stubborn like myself to join the forum and get citizenship since I started telegramming them about the flag poll, Lexer’s map, and other activities happening at the time. If you elect me I can promise more of the same and then some: the position is a regional officer and with that I will be able to make polls myself and Adytus and I won’t have to try to work out scheduling anymore and leave people hanging like we accidentally did with the song poll. People have been complaining about aspects of the polls recently too and I’m open to all of those suggestions … the polls definitely haven’t been perfect and I’m down to fix them in whatever way works best for everyone. I’m thinking a mix of both in-game and forum polls is needed, since not everybody comes onto the forum for whatever reason. I’m also aware of the votes that went kind of unnoticed after the last guy quit and will make sure that this doesn’t happen. As Chief Scribe I will make sure that motions go to vote as soon as people are ready and supporting the motion.

I also plan to branch out from just internal stuff. I’ve been getting info lately on our relations with other regions, people and groups that are around and there’s a lot going on that I don’t otherwise pay any attention to. I’d like to get better informed on the goings-on and maybe start trying to represent us more on the Nationstates forums. I will have plenty of time after this week to focus on working here since December break will be starting up.

That’s about all I have to say for now. I tend to take things as they come to me, and if you elect me I will continue to do that to the best of my ability. It has been a few months since I started playing but I definitely have a lot more to learn and taking this job is probably a big leap, but I think I can handle it. Either way: pick me or Syg, you’ll get someone who is enthusiastic about the position and the region and is willing to put in the work needed to do an exemplary job as Chief Scribe. I don’t have a ton of experience (any, really) in writing or passing legislation so Syg probably has me beat there. If I do happen to win I will be sure to work closely with him, Adytus, and anyone else involved in this department of the region to make sure that everything runs as well as possible. If not then best of luck to him, but I’m sure he won’t need luck.
