[Passed] Appointment of the Heir Apparent

Post by Syberis »

I would like to start by saying how honored and surprised I was when I was approached for this position, and if appointed, I will gratefully accept it. However, my view on this title means that I won't be taking it easy in this position. It's a complex position, with less concrete responsibilities in the day-to-day of the region, and many more intangible and supporting roles. However, I don't for a minute believe that this is less work, or any less difficult.

Ultimately, the job of the Heir Apparent is to take the Osiris of today and make sure it becomes the Osiris of tomorrow. He will be one of the longest serving permanent members of the government, with 2 appointed positions that tend to carry very long terms. So, the job becomes one of listening, learning, and trying to gain all of the historic and poltical context necessary to make the difficult decisions down the road. It will be my job to learn from all of you. Learn even more about the past and present of Osiris than I already know. Learn how to lead a GCR and how to act as a Pharaoh, not just as your buddy Syb. I have to learn how to wear the crown, and I have to study every single GCR, their power players, their history, and their desires. I have to learn all of this so that I can make sure Osiris heads in the direction we wish with full understanding of how the rest of the world will see us.

Osiris deserves stability and I will work every day towards that goal - with this administration and the next down the line until I myself must step away in favor of my successor. I do feel that that is something that we can all get behind.

Hail Osiris.

-Mirkhan Syberis Rahl-Montresor, Baron of Abusir.

I am positive that you will serve as both a great Pharaoh and Heir Apparent. :)

I applaud Syberis' remarks and sentiments. With NK as Pharaoh and Syberis as his successor, I am confident in an influential, responsible and sovereign Osiris. We have been through a lot as a region and with our collective experiences we can foster greatness in Osiris. This includes our leadership, which is guided from the top by the Pharaoh and his team. With his announcement of Syberis as Heir Apparent of Osiris, we can see good judgement being applied to the governance of our region and society.
